Hey all, glad to find this Synchronet area for the BBS software, mind a question on SyncTerm?

Recently got a newer version of SyncTerm working and had some questions on the login and password macros. :)

    Thanks,

    Doc Clu

Thanks, one of the things enjoyed in more recent versions of Syncterm is the ability to hit alt+L for logging in to a BBS and having the user and password settings all set up.

As it is you can supposedly hit alt+L and if the password does not take, a person can hit Alt-L again. The Alt-L option works great on the sychronet BBSs and a few others, but not all.

Is there a chance that a different key could be assigned to the password field. That way when alt-L enters the user field but fails to send the password, the password can be sent by another Alt+(letter) command?

I didn't know about this Alt-L feature, but if you configure an entry in your BBS list with RLogin or SSH, you can put your login credentials in there. I'm not sure why there would need to be a separate hotkey (Alt-L) for that. Unless I'm misudnerstanding something.

Alt-L sends the login name and password normally. It works on some BBSes and not on others. For instance, I can login to my Synchronet BBS using Alt-L but not to my Atari BBS. It only sends the login name on the Atari BBS. I have seen this behavior on other BBSes also. So I understand Doc Clu's request for an additional programmable key for other BBSes.
